Submissions

Marooned: the Undergraduate Literary Review is an annual literary journal run entirely by ASU students. Our goal is to create opportunities for undergraduates in all majors to showcase their creative work and re-define the term “literature.” Our submission period opens on September 22nd and will close February 29, 2016.

Our theme for the upcoming issue is “RE-” Re-imagined, re-activated, re-newed and re-inspired, we’re looking for creative works that reflect the concept of rebirth. Show us how the prefix “re-” inspires you!

We are interested in showcasing a variety of mediums including, but not limited to: poetry, short stories, literary essays, creative non-fiction, art (photos, paintings, drawings, concept art), and graphic novellas.

All submissions will also be considered for publication on our blog.

Please submit only one story or essay (5,000 word-limit) or up to three poems at a time. Please submit no more than 10 separate pieces of artwork. Any submission over the specified limit will not be read.

We will also be accepting submissions for our Cover Art Competition. The winner will receive $100 and their artwork will be used as the cover of our Spring 2016 issue. Submission closes January 31, 2016.

Send all submissions in .doc, .pdf, or .png format to: marooned.asu@gmail.com
